No problem for me without pmount, it's strange that it doesn't work for you. Also, we should wait the new pcmanfm before adding such depends.

Please see my previous mail about default applications.
But I didn't know there is a music player with mplayer backend. I tried it a bit and it's pretty nice. It uses more RAM that aqualung but the CPU usage is really low.
