may I ask why Lubuntu 10.04 does´nt ship with an update manager?
I thought it is because of dependencies but I am just asking to be sure.

Anyways, if Update manager is too bloated for Lubuntu I think we should
create some simple update tool.
The tool would be very simple and be just like a graphical version of
¨sudo apt-get update¨.
I think it should look a bit like the regular update manager on Ubuntu.

An update manager is really necessary: do you think your grandma would
open the terminal and type ¨sudo apt-get update¨ or open synaptic?
No she would click on something like update manager or lxupdater (my
idea XD )

As I am not a programmer but a translator with some interface design
experience, I made a mock-up of the application which should come with
