Yes, it's a bit tricky. Look at this:
http://www.ubuntu.com/project/about-ubuntu/derivatives

They're called "derivatives", not flavours, so they look like "mutations"
from the original.

With OpenSuse it's easier:
http://software.opensuse.org/121/es

They look like another type of same distro, I mean, 32bit, 64bit, LXDE
variant, KDE variant...
