Re: Minutes from the Lubuntu Team meeting on 2012-02-15
I'm not sure what you're asking. The mini.iso is quite small. Do you need a bootable live image that'll fit on a CD?
I'm the one that pulled the plug on our live Alpha 2 image because of this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=11655826&postcount=1
I think this image should be under 700MB but it'll require loads and loads of updates:

It would have been Alpha 2 but the bosses decided not to delay the Alpah 2 release. Is that helpful or am I just confused?

Was this on DVD or did you catch it when it was not oversized?

I'm also on an up to date Precise install, and I did use the alternate disc to install (seems like it's always safer than the live disc for PowerPC...).

I'm using/testing the latest Precise.
I particularly find it annoying that lxterminal opens full-screen. How often is a terminal used full-screen?
Maybe once in a while with "cat" or "ls" ;^)

What version are you running?

I just subscribed to this list, and Lubuntu is doing pretty well on my Powermac G4. Nouveau is even behaving, and I have 3D support even.
Anyway, not sure how this mailing list works, but I agree about the auto-maximized windows. That has to go.

I notice a couple of comments about the auto-maximized windows but then it seems to be dropped.
On anything larger than a small pocket device many of these auto-maximized windows are worse than annoying.
What is our intention?
Thanks in advance,
Lance
