Re: Fwd: [Bug 976258] Re: migration assistant full disk install crash precise 12.04 amd64

As far as the ubiquity bug I was testing daily current builds and got a
automated
bug report so I let it complete. In fact I got two crashes during the
manual install
and the full drive. I think these will probably be corrected as the Beta2
matures
closer to the release date, but better safe than sorry on those bug
reports. At times,
during the install a screen comes up and ask if you would like to migrate
any of the
dat from other partitions that is the migration assistant's job. I never
select any of
them but sometimes it still crashes the install. On the full drive
installation I even
cleared my testing HDD with Gparted all 320GB were free unallocated and it
still
crashed on the install.

Now concerning the pcmanfm, it appears to my untrained eyes that the
different
spins of Lubuntu 12.04 behave differently. I have had no issues with with
pcmanfm
using the amd64 spin in recent days and I do not think Lance has had any
with the
i386 spin. So I think the issues may be confined to others like powerpc. I
am not
sure at all I just have not had any recent problems with pcmanfm.

I plan to do more daily build testing to check on the ubiquity migration
assistant
issues because those are tough to deal with and some new users will just
give up.
They don't like to be told try the alternate iso (which I would always use).
