Hey Phill
You did good asking this one. i tried a powerpc install earlier and
never got ubiquity to start so I failed the install. Then I started
messing with my G4 and found something that might help "not exactly"
nomodeset but it got me to a clean desktop and I am now installing a
full hardware install of the 20120905.1 powerpc. I waited until
plymouth starts rolling the dots and hit CTRL-Apple button-t and that
slides you into the logging text. Then I just set back and waited
until the clean desktop session started and now I am waiting on the
install to finish.. So far so good.. I am going to try to duplicate it
with a side-by-side and manual install if I can stay awake long
enough. Not sure that will work for everyone but it got me there.
