PPC

Hi guys,

Well, it's been a rather roller-coaster ride.

The final (unless something REALLY goes wrong tomorrow) re-spin of the
world (all isos, everywhere) is now just starting.

What is in no doubt is that from A3 onwards, things got worse..... It did /
does seem like one step forwards, two steps backwards...

What is required is an honest 'pass' for the ppc versions, even with a grey
bug. If at least one of the video cards can be gotten to pass, then a
release can be made and continued bug hunting can then go on in the less
stressful nature of having missed 2 mile stones whilst you good people
actually found the issues out.

I'd prefer PPC to have the 12.10 releases at least there, even if it is not
widely advertised, so that you do not have to start from scratch in 13.04
which I think would be much greater hurdle to over come.

So, please test, try and get it to work, update both PPCFAQ [1] and
L-PPCFAQ [2] so that there is a method for the 'die hard, cantancerous,
bloody minded "it's not going to beat me" people' to follow. Please do note
that the L-PPCFAQ[2] should just be a short area pointing people to the
'main' area [1]

Not the sort of release PPC would have hoped for, but... such is life.

If any one would like an A3 as a benchmark so you can pull logs for fails
etc.. I do have them archived[3]. It is the lack of being able to attach
the logs to the bug reports which is preventing things. I am constantly
asked "where are the logs"..

Regards,

Phill.
