Xfce powermanagement problem
Anyone else out here noted a problem with xfce powermanagement in 12.10?
For me, when it comes to <Close lid> it does not do anything like it
would aspected to do. It does NOT:
- screen lock
- standby
- hibernate
Even though the settings are there. And that's true either with
battery on or with trafo.
In lubuntu 12.10ppc only the screen is shut down without any chance to
reawake it. When i choose, from the Xfce powermanagement menu Standby
or Hibernate happens the same.
In amd64 the screen is only darkened (at Close lid). When i choose
Standby or Hibernate (from top of the menu) the commands are executed
correctly (but IMHO that's due to the fact that for the amd64 i found
out how to go around the - by default - missing Standby and
Hibernate).
While i can understand, that Standby and Hibernate cannot work when
there are problems in the kernel (as i suspect for the kernel 3.5), i
really don't understand, how and why xfce powermanagement apparantly
is unable to connect <Close lid> to a command (as
'xscreensaver-command -lock' or "sudo pm-suspend')?
