Message #01718
Manual ISO Testcases Changes
Thanks to CarlaSella, we've gotten some much needed improvements to our
manual iso testcases. We now cover some additional installation
scenarios, so some new testcases have been added:
Install (manual partitioning re-using home partition)
http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/testcases/1470/info
Install (erase and re-install)
http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/testcases/1471/info
Those of you who helped last cycle might remember the bugs found that
existed in both of these scenarios.
Additionally, you will notice that testcases are now shorter and more
focused on the specific piece being tested, instead of testing
everything at once. For instance, look at the auto-resize testcase:
http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/testcases/1301/info
No longer are you testing each of the ubiquity screens. Instead, the
"Other Features" and other testcases have replaced this testing with a
specific testcase that is marked as "run-once", so it is tested and
needs verified only once for an image, saving everyone time :-) I'm
happy to hear about more ideas to keep our testing focused and as
efficient as possible -- no matter the testing we do. I know these
changes have been requested in the past by wxl, and other I am not
remembering from IRC and the forums, so thank you to all of you for this
suggestion.
Happy Testing,
Nicholas
