Non-Official-Apps

Hi,

I was so excited to have both the alternate and the desktop versions
installed successfully on my test machine after a hard time with the
desktop image which didn't want to work after installation, now it does.

Anyway, I've been playing with these apps recently:

I just have a silly Q here.

Do I need to carry on now? I don't think these will be included with 13.04
but can we even recommend that to other users?

So far, 13.04 beta2 is doing well. Did not do heavy tests yet but even
Chromium crashes are less.

I'm starting to like the idea of "xombrero" - was watching youtube video
this morning and it was using around 160MB or Physical RAM (AKA Resident
RAM) if I remember correctly.

I also played with "compton" and it is nice to have that specially for
users who keep complaining about the lack of tweaks/effects on Lubuntu.

As for the image view, I'm so disappointed as it has no "crop" tool :(
I do need that a lot on daily basis and shotwell has a lot of dependencies.

"lubuntu-tweak" did not work for me at all. Nothing happened when I tried
to put the File Manager and the Trash on the desktop.

As for the menu editor, I saw it but didn't play with it yet. It looks
promising. Not even sure if I personally need such thing with Lubuntu but
perhaps it will be useful for others.

I will do heavier tests for these apps but do you guys recommend to do this
now? or after the release? in fact, I'm just thinking this is a good chance
to test how stable 13.04 beta 2 is :)

Hmm, I think I will install Firefox and test the 3 browsers :)

But overall, it is really really really nice to have all these apps in one
PPA :D

Thank you!
