Is it possible to install from desktop ISO for PPC? (I.e from the first menu). Also what is the state of alternate on PPC?

Hi Lars. I'm not sure.

I'm including the boss (Phill) directly in the conversation so he can tell us what's still needed.

I think on i386 and amd64 we're good enough for an Alpha 1, but Phill may have different ideas.

I thought we got PPC and AMD64+mac yesterday. The PPC image still won't
boot even with yesterday's respin. Both Keith and I made entries for
the Live test for yesterday's respin. Should entries be made again for
all the other tests or will those from the other day suffice?

/Lars

The Live CD doesn't boot at all. It stalls at the splash screen (Lubuntu with the little progress dots underneath). None of the usual boot parameters work to boot it, however the "snd- powermac.blacklist=yes" is still needed to avoid the "fixing recursive..." bug.

The Live CD booted fine up to about the June 19 or June 20 version-- can't remember exactly, and I didn't keep the iso's. Since then, it hasn't been bootable.

I can't comment on the alternate CD because I haven't tried it. I'll download it now and give it a shot.

Also, I've addressed this response to the mailing list, with cc: to others whom have directly responded to this issue in previous emails. If this is not proper protocol, please let me know.

Keith
