Message #04655
QA = testing, development, and triage
I realize now that ultimately the Ubuntu Quality team is really only
responsible for reporting bugs. The development team is responsible
for fixing them. In between them is the BugSquad team, which works to
verify bugs, assign them importance, and make sure they're complete.
This is an important job that I don't think we stress enough with
Lubuntu. We have Lubuntu testers and Lubuntu developers, why not have
Lubuntu triagers? Ultimately we're the folks that are most familiar
with the flavor and most capable of helping. It seems that this it
totally missing in our quality efforts.
Is anyone here a member of the BugSquad team? Anyone interested in
helping out? I think the wiki for testing should be edited slightly to
point at the triage pages on BugSquad. I'm still trying to understand
the process to become a member of the team (being approved to it on
Launchpad does not appear to be sufficient) because I'd like to help
and I'd like to help others.
Your thoughts as always are most appreciated. Thanks!
wxl
