Hi,

buried in the technical notes for 12.10 [1] is the following

The installer no longer offers the "migration
assistant"<https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel/2012-May/035263.html>
that
migrated documents and settings from other operating systems. This was a
continuing source of bug reports, and the installer team felt that it was
not worth the resources to bring it up to a level of quality sufficient to
continue including it.

This means that
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/InstallingLubuntu will
need amending.
