Re: welcome amjjawad
Hi guys,
You may not be aware, there are some serious changes being done for
Ubiquity installer. Whilst the dropping of alternate only affects Ubuntu
(the other flavours are sticking with both ubiquity and alternate,
certainly for this cycle). One of things being added into ubiquity is for a
low RAM install. We will get our 1st peek at Ubuntu beta 1, AFAIK it can
still not handle RAID arrays.
As the other flavours decided early on to keep the 2 variants, it does not
really affect us. When they get it nailed down so it can handle low RAM
installs (and RAID) we can look into it again.
If you wish to keep updated on its progress, join the ubuntu-qa mailing
list, if you any testing / install questions do please ask!
Regards,
Phill.
