This failure is caused by https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1240652.

A bug in simplestreams (or, more specifically, in a library used by 
simplestreams, see the bug for details) is preventing 
maas-import-ephemerals to run correctly.

We're currently working on it.
