What testing ppa? I have been using the experimental one, and it has r2496,
same one I have installed:

  Version table:
 *** 1.6+bzr2496-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/maas-maintainers/experimental/ubuntu/
trusty/main amd64 Packages
