In 1.5.x, CNAMEs are generated as soon as a node can be linked to an IP,
and it stays there for the lifetime of the node.

If you are seeing CNAMEs *disappear*, then the IP address could have
changed or a DHCP lease has expired.

This was one of the problems being solved in 1.6 with the static IP work.
