Agreed, hard enforcement is overkill.

FWIW, with all of us in the core team being ex-Launchpadders, we maintain 
pretty much all of the good practices developed in that time.

That said, there is not enough communication done in this mailing list so that 
more people can contribute.  I suggest we try and hold these design 
discussions here, or if a design meeting was held summarise the meeting notes 
in here *every time* so that nobody is excluded.
