MAAS 1.10 (Transitional Release) Released in Xenial

*Annoucement*
MAAS 1.10 is an interim, transitional release between 1.9 and 2.0, aimed at
providing full support of MAAS in Xenial until MAAS 2.0 is released. This
transition
is required due to recent changes in core dependencies used by MAAS, namely
Django and Python 3, and only for users who would like to run MAAS in
Xenial:

 * Python 3.5 has now been made the default Python version in Ubuntu Xenial.
As such, MAAS 1.10 has moved away from supporting Python 2 to support
Python 3.5. While MAAS itself has been ported to Python 3.5, the team
has made great effort at porting other MAAS core dependencies.

 * Django 1.8 has been made available in Ubuntu Xenial. Starting from
Django 1.7, migrations are now handled by a native migration system
instead of South. This has made Django backwards incompatible. As such,
MAAS 1.10+ has gained support for Django 1.8 and dropped support for
   Django < 1.7.

Note that while MAAS 1.9 could still be run with Python 2 and Django 1.6 in
Xenial, the MAAS team is no longer supporting it in Xenial only. MAAS 1.9
support will remain in Trusty until its EOL, however, for users running
Xenial they are required to upgrade to MAAS 1.10 (or later).

*Availability*
You can find MAAS 1.10 for Xenial in:

MAAS 1.10 is also being made available in Ubuntu Xenial.

*Filing bugs*
As this is a transitional release, some issues may still be present. If you
come across an issue, please file bugs in [1], please use a prefix for the
subject such as [1.10].
