Bug description:
Attached is a patch to add light_scale device file for applesmc to allow light sensor readings to be scaled by userspace before HAL reads them etc - this should allow to compensate for machines which report low light sensor values in general such as the MBP 5,1 - see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hal/+bug/285815/comments/9 for general discussion
