Hi Chris,
A quick launchpad search reveals that there are a couple of bugs open on
this. You may want to comment on this one:

I'm able to confirm this issue for all recent macbook and macbook pro
models. Frankly, it seems to me that mouseemu should be an opt-in rather
than an opt-out deal. Though the hardware detection could be amended in
the installer scripts to fix this issue (not a fan of this option as I
can foresee this bug resurfacing with a new revision of the hardware).

Bug description:
The MacBook 5.1 Caps Lock key's LED does not light up when activated. This worked in Intrepid via the Mactel PPA. Possible Mactel PPA packages which fixed this include hal-applesmc and hid-dkms.
