Re: Januty

Yes, but do they NEED to be. I think that most of these changes were added upstream. I have no problem updating what's there, I just want to make sure that it will not replicate what is already in the normal repos.

I almost 100% positive that the applesmc-dkms package is not needed (unless there are more changes to it). The bcm5974 package should not be needed anymore. If we can have someone test that the MacBook(Pro)5.x machine trackpads are not working, then maybe, but it is my understanding that all these changes made it into the kernel proper. g-p-m and hal-applesmc may need the update, but I'd like to get that verified first.

If you would like access to the PPA, then you need to create a launchpad account and attempt to become a member of the mactel-support team.

P.S. please CC mactel-support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on this conversation. That will keep all the other developers in the loop.

applesmc-dkms is only built for Intrepid, same as bcm5974-dkms, gnome-power-manager, hal-applesmc etc. The sources look correct they just have not been built inside the PPA for Januty,

I think that all the packages that actually need to be updated for Jaunty have been. Is there some specific function that you are needing still?

Hi,

I noticed you are the admin for the mactel support PPA. When will there be releases for Januty? I noticed there are a few releases but not all of the packages are there yet. I am currently alpha testing on a macbook pro. If the releases are going to come with the beta release I do not mind grabbing the source for the packages and bumping the version and
putting them back in my PPA so I can use them till the releases are
ready in the mactel support PPA,

Thanks again for the good work,

Adam
