Fixed by removing everything, then following this guide/ppa
http://webupd8.blogspot.com/2009/05/how-to-install-latest-
pulseaudio-0915.html for latest pulse packages and afterwards following
instructions in the wiki
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookPro5-1_5-2/Jaunty#Sound.

Bug description:
Pulse Audio never worked under Jaunty on (my) MacBook Pro 5,1. I 've followed several how-to's [1][2][3] but no luck. This is an important issue.

How can MBP 5,1 owners trace the bug, if there is one?
