Bug description:
Resume from suspend fails on lucid. This worked without issues on the stable release (karmic). This issue does not occur in the latest stable mainline kernel (v2.6.32.1: uname -a
Linux ubuntu-asif 2.6.32-02063201-generic #02063201 SMP Fri Dec 18 17:30:02 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux), indicating that this is an issue with some Ubuntu specific patches. 

Steps to reproduce:

1. Suspend

2. Try to resume

What happens:

3. System comes back with a black screen, sometimes with white boxes.

Expected result:

3. System resumes back to locked gnome login prompt.

I can resume my previous session by switching to VT1, then back to VT7. The display works fine after that, and I can resume using the machine with no issues.
