Today I switched to KDE (kubuntu-desktop) and I confirm that here
suspend/resume works.

Macbook Pro 6,2
Ubuntu 11.10 beta 1 32bit (latest updates)

Bug description:
  My macbook goes to sleep, but does not resume. This is a bug in
  oneiric. Using latest updates for the amd64 + mac release of oneiric.
