To do this more securely, the config.php could/should be moved to it's
own folder, and write permission given to that folder only -- instead of
giving permission to write the htdocs.

Mahara would be even more wonderful if it came with an install wizard, like other LAMP projects such as wordpress, drupal, and statusnet.
