Hi Mike,

Tried with the View file-related blocks (Some HTML, An Image, Embedded
media) and did not manage to replicate it. Can you please provide more
details in which block this happens? Can you please test whether the
same file you have problems with uploading it to particular type block
can be uploaded to My Files section and upload completes successfully.

Bug description:
Mahara 1.3.3, Ubuntu 64 Bit OS, Firefox and Chrome

When uploading unsupported file types the upload icon just spins and spins forever without telling the user the the file he/she is trying to upload is not supported. Better to have an error message.
