"Just a note that many of us are using laptops with trackpads and even
iPads and so aren't using a mouse (for that middle click). Thanks for
opening the new topic.

As a long time HTML coder it's the one bit of code I always insisted on
people learning and even when using wikispaces or wikieducator I still
write the code to ensure links open in new tabs/windows."

  Open external RSS feeds in new window

Bug description:
  as per http://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=3705

  An external RSS feed made available via the feed blocktype should open
  in a new window.

  I would amend this by saying: The user may want to choose as some
  people see it as bad usability (cf.
  http://www.useit.com/alertbox/990530.html ) to open new links in a
  different browser window / tab. Thus, if possible the regular function
  of "target="" when including a hyperlink could be included and goes
  for all links that are associated with this RSS feed, i.e. the feed
  address itself and the links to the individual feed items if the
  condensed version is chosen.
