Message #06863
[Bug 548117] Re: Forgot password screen has confusing wording
Right, so on master. You can't enter in the email or username of a user
that uses an external auth method. Only ones that have internal
authentication.
The error message is "The email address or username you entered doesn't
match any users for this site"
Did we want this to determine whether a user is external or not and have
a message like "The user you requested uses an external authentication
method. Ask your administrator for help with changing your password"??
Cheers,
Hugh

Title:
Forgot password screen has confusing wording
Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
Confirmed
Bug description:
For users who authenticate using an authinstance that can't be used
with the 'forgot password' screen (basically any other than internal),
the wording of the failure screen is confusing.
It should, for those users, explain why they cannot change their
password through that screen.
There's also, as far as I remember, an API method to export a change
password URL. We should check if this works, and if the admin can even
set it.
