Let's do that using a proper search tool (see bug #680710).

** Description changed:

  The internal self search only searches artefacts, doesn't do indexing,
  stopwords, relevancy ordering or snippet highlighting.
  
  This could be improved by porting over drupal's search module. The query
  string parser has already been ported and modified slightly to fit what
  is currently being done for the self search, but porting the rest would
  give mahara a very good inbuilt SQL search engine.
