[Bug 896890] Re: Collection title overrides page title

Richard and I had a chat about this and we propose the following:

Show the page title instead of the collection title in the heading of
the page if "Page navigation", i.e. the tabbed navigation is turned off.

The collection title should then be displayed in the collection
navigation block. It doesn't make too much sense to have the collection
title displayed as there is no way to get to the entire collection
unless the other pages are linked on the page somehow.

We are not going to change anything for the collections that have the
tabbed navigation as the page titles are displayed in the tabs below the
collection title.

Bug #897057 will be tackled separately as that is better for reviewing
the fixes.

Title:
  Collection title overrides page title

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
  Triaged

Bug description:
When pages in a collection are displayed, the title that appears at
the top of the pages is the title of the collection, not the title of
  the particular page.

Is this a bug or a feature? I see it as a bug.

In this case below, a page enttitled "Professional Page" looks like it's called "Site Index", which is just wrong:
  http://careerportfolio.mb.ca/view/view.php?id=1209

Is there a reason to have it the other way? Could it be accommodated in other ways, such as optionally having:
   "CollectionTitle: PageTitle" ?

  Mahara 1.4 , LAMP
  FF and IE (at least)
