[Bug 936660] Re: Add users to institution without invite

Hi Mathew,

If you are a site admin, you can add users to an institution
circumventing the invitation process, cf.
http://manual.mahara.org/en/latest/site_admin/institutions.html#members
Alternatively, if you only want to add one person to an institution, you
can do so on the accounts page, cf.
http://manual.mahara.org/en/latest/site_admin/users.html#user-account-
settings

In general, I think it is by design that institution admins cannot add
users in bulk as they should be able to control which institution they
want to join. However, in Mahara 1.5, where we have implemented a few
features for Mahara sites that run multiple institutions and thus use
Mahara in an educational setting, e.g. many schools using it, there is a
feature where you as admin can add users without inviting them first,
cf.
http://manual.mahara.org/en/moving_accounts/site_administration/institution_members.html
#people-who-have-left-a-given-institution

Cheers
Kristina

Title:
Add users to institution without invite

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
In Mahara 1.4, you have the option to invite users to join an
institution. It would be good if the ability to just add users
straight to an institution was added, therefore bypassing the invite
user, then waiting for them to accept process. Also showing more than
the first 100 results in the institution members search box would be
  useful.
