[Bug 996405] Re: Place the "Allow coments" check box for text boxes onto the text box block
I wouldn't think so for journal posts as you are asked when creating the
journal entry whether you want to allow comments or not. Similarly for
files. You can change the comments settings for files directly in the
block when you edit the file properties. I always assumed that it was
clear that this would go for all instances the file / journal entry is
used.
For the notes it is not so clear as there is no comment check box upon
creation. However, like for files and journal posts choosing comments
should then go for all instances of the note and not just for this one
time.
I'll ask the user who had the wishlist to head over here and give her
opinion.

Title:
Place the "Allow coments" check box for text boxes onto the text box
block
Status in Mahara ePortfolio:

Bug description:
affects Mahara 1.5
The "Allow comments" functionality for text boxes / notes is well
hidden because you can only get to it via Content -> Notes -> Edit a
particular note. It would be better and easier for the work flow if a
user could decide to allow comments on a text box / note when actually
creating it.
As text boxes / notes cannot be created from Content -> Notes many
users might not readily go there and make the change there.
