Not a solution, but an interim workaround: You can change the file name
in Mahara and / or provide a description for your files to distinguish
them.

Bug description:
  By default, file names are not displayed fully. This makes searching and reading sometimes difficult because most files have a name longer than it is permitted to display.
  Would it be possible to display the entire name?
