[Bug 1014283] Re: Wishlist/Feature Request: Activity tracking for education plugin

Hello Teresa,

Thanks for your wishlist item. This is the right place for it. Launchpad
treats everything as "Bug". So no worries. I changed the status to
feature request.

The blueprint you refer to has actually already been implemented as the
Moodle assignment submission plugin
https://wiki.mahara.org/index.php/System_Administrator%27s_Guide/Moodle//Mahara_Integration/View_Submission

We are currently working on some reports which give more insight into
which artefacts have been used etc. but not the logging that you
propose.

The "How many hits / views a page gets has already been part of Mahara
since at least 1.4. :-) Though we don't track "by whom".

Cheers
Kristina

Title:
Wishlist/Feature Request: Activity tracking for education plugin

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
  Triaged

Bug description:
Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this feature request.

There appears to be a blueprint, Tracking outcomes (Registered on
2012-04-12), that seems be along the same lines as this feature
  request.

I am not registering a bug, but a wishlist/feature request.

This could perhaps be a plugin, or a feature that can be turned off if
it is not being used by an education institution, or business.

This feature could generate a simple report on:

  Single users:
  - how many times a user has logged in
  - when they have logged in
  - possibly a summary of activities when logged in

  Pages/Groups/Journals:
  - how many hits/views a page gets
  - by whom
