[Bug 1027199] Re: Numbers in Institution Names
Hi Ralf,
I'm not sure on the history on why numbers are not allowed for the
institution name. On the other hand, the display name should cover your
use case of displaying a number.
Cheers,
Hugh

Title:
Numbers in Institution Names
Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
Opinion
Bug description:
As described in documentation institution names should be one word without numbers and special signs.
Is there a technical reason that numbers are not allowed?
Otherwise I would suggest to allow numbers in instution names.
There are a lot of departments that can naturally be an institution.
Their names often have numbers. German vocational schools often
describe the study years by numbers and we also have school that have
numbers in their name (i.e. Berufliche Schule 3).
