Charlie's code was with maps.google.com/maps and not google.co.nz. I can
reproduce the issue on a fresh master install and tested it in Firefox:

When I add the embed code to a standard map to the text box, I see the
map just fine in the editor, but not in the block itself.

Bug description:
  Hi guys I forgot to log this yesterday. Anyway I embedded a Google map
  as part of testing embedded media though the map is visible on IE I
  can't see it on FF, Chrome and Safari.
