Hi  Thomas,

I have tried replicating this and can't reproduce this bug.

When I click on the "Lost username / password" link. I can enter the username admin then click "Send request".
An email then appears in my inbox with a link to reset the password. After I click that, I am presented with a screen to set the password. When I set the new password, I am redirected to the homepage logged in. After logging out, I can log back in with the new password.

Were you following these steps? Was there anything in your web servers
error log?

  cannot change password

  Mahara Version 1.5.3
  Plattform: LAMP
  Browser: Chrome

  After installing mahara it is not possible to change the admin's password. So I'm not able to log in.
  When submitting the the new password only the login screen appears. But nothing happens. The password is still the same.
