[Bug 1235305] Re: Image slideshow fails first time when selecting 'Style: Slideshow'

I replicated this problem in Firefox on Ubuntu. Here's how to replicate:

1. In your content area, create a folder and put some images in it
2. Create a new page
3. Clear your browser's cache and navigate to the new page's "Edit content" tab.
4. Add an "Image gallery" block to it
5. In the block's configure screen, select the style "Slideshow"
6. Click the "select" link next to your folder
7. Click "Save"

Expected Result:
The block should close, and show the contents of the selected folder.

Actual Result:
The block does not close. Instead, the config popup reloads, and the folder becomes unselected. Clicking "Select" again at this point, will cause the block config to close and show the block with no images selected. Re-opening the block config and re-selecting the folder will now work.

Title:
Image slideshow fails first time when selecting 'Style: Slideshow'

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  1.8RC, debian, mysql

When adding a image slideshow to a page for the first time, selecting
Style: Slideshow prevents me from selecting an image folder. I can
always select image folder when using thumbnails or thumbnails
(square). Once I chose thumbnails and save, I can then edit again and
select slideshow and images will display. Closing and starting browser
seems to put me on to step one each time.
