Yes there is a bug with the group search. 
If the group page has access for logged in users then the artefacts on the page come up in the elastic search

but they do not come up if 
a) the page can only be accessed by the group
b) if the content is not attached to anything (ie group files)

  Show content from submitted portfolios in fulltext search

Bug description:
  It would be nice to also show content from portfolio pages /
  collections that have been submitted to a group for assessment. I
  could not seem to get a result when I tried to find one in the
  Elasticsearch in 1.8.0RC1.
