I agree, there's not really a need to fix this.

Another thing to consider is time zones. Mahara doesn't currently
recognize time zones, it just uses the server time. So, if I was using a
Mahara site that is running on US time, and I try to record my
completion date using the current date in New Zealand, it'll be "in the
future".

Changing to "Won't Fix".

  My Portfolio > Plans > Am able to set my completed date in the future

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  Hey Guys I was looking at my portfolio and edited one of my plans and
  and did the following

  1. Changed the "Completed date" to the 30/07/2020

  2. Checked task completed check box

  3. Clicked on the "Save Task' button

  
  I was expecting to be validated regarding the completion date being in the future and being able to check the check box for completed.
