Hi Gerard,

We have added in the ability to add a reCaptcha form to the registration
form on register.php page in Mahara 1.9.

It can be set up via the Administration -> Configure site -> Security
settings.

If you are wanting to add it to an older version of Mahara you can take a look at the patchs/commits here as a starting point:
