  Changing message notification default setting

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:

Bug description:
  Hi,

  When you log in to Mahara as a student, the default setting for
  message notifications is to send the notification to email. I think
  this should be changed to "Inbox"  (or even create a "Show
  notification" option) so the notification icon appears at the top of
  the Mahara page.

  This could also be extended to make a lot of the default options "Show
  notification". For example "You have just recieved feedback"
  notification set to display as a notification by default and if they
  don't like the notifications they can turn it off.

  The younger gengeration growing up with Facebook and Twitter are used
  to this UI, and rely on it. I would bennefit Mahara because majority
  of the users are students and this makes Mahara more interactive.
