[Bug 1461721] Re: tagged journal entries artefact is case sensitive
A case where case sensitive may be useful is when a proper noun is
different to the common noun,
eg: Smith (A person's last name) vs smith (a person who works with metal)
Hope (A person's first name) vs hope (a feeling)
but saying that it might be worth having a setting on the tagged
journals entries block to pick case insensitivity (and even have it 'on'
by default.

Title:
tagged journal entries artefact is case sensitive
Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
New
Bug description:
Mahara 15.04
Sorry I didn't pick up on this during testing, but the tags chosen in the tagged journal entries artefact are case sensitive.
So for example if over time I use the following tags to tag my journals "PDR", "Pdr" and "pdr".
And then I add a block of tagged journal artefact and choose "pdr"
none of the "PDR" or "Pdr" entries show up.
I suppose my question is, is there any reason why tags are case sensitive? I would seem it creates more work and is not intuitive. I know I "should" be choosing "PDR" every time, but the only time someone finds out they "should" have is when it's too late...
Unless there is a good use case I would suggest case insensitive tags is the way to go.
Cheers,
Shane.
