[Bug 1461721] Re: tagged journal entries artefact is case sensitive
Do we really need another setting that people don't use? Aren't most
people used to "just typing in Google" no matter whether with a capital
letter or not? I think it would be good if the search were case
insensitive and thus showed both results (Hope and hope) and then the
author can decide which one it is as it is their own tags and not
somebody else's tags. We don't use semantic tagging in Mahara and thus
anything is a bit arbitrary in my opinion. Adding another setting just
adds more clicks that may not really be necessary.

Title:
tagged journal entries artefact is case sensitive
Status in Mahara:
Triaged
Bug description:
Mahara 15.04
Sorry I didn't pick up on this during testing, but the tags chosen in the tagged journal entries artefact are case sensitive.
So for example if over time I use the following tags to tag my journals "PDR", "Pdr" and "pdr".
And then I add a block of tagged journal artefact and choose "pdr"
none of the "PDR" or "Pdr" entries show up.
I suppose my question is, is there any reason why tags are case sensitive? I would seem it creates more work and is not intuitive. I know I "should" be choosing "PDR" every time, but the only time someone finds out they "should" have is when it's too late...
Unless there is a good use case I would suggest case insensitive tags is the way to go.
Cheers,
Shane.
