[Bug 1534391] [NEW] Wishlist: Let Mahara post to social media when creating a journal entry
Public bug reported:
See
https://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=7486&offset=0&limit=10#post30117
One shortcoming of Mahara journals, as compared to other blogging
platforms, is that Mahara lacks the ability to automatically make posts
in other social media platforms.
For example, if I generate a post in Instagram, the Instagram site can
automatically re-post this to Facebook and Twitter for me.
Some complications to consider:
- What URL would you want to generate, to post to these other networks?
This may require implement artefact-level permissions first, in order
for it to make sense, so that you can post the direct link to the blog
entry.
- Mahara's openGraph metadata is currently a bit incomplete and
obsolete, so it doesn't generate very useful summaries for Facebook and
other social media sites when you embed a Mahara link.
** Affects: mahara
Importance: Wishlist
Status: Confirmed
** Tags: journal
