[Bug 1686080] [NEW] Copy page results in loss of view_rows_columns data in MySQL
Public bug reported:
Hello,
Is there any progress on the issue described in this forum thread -
https://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=7584
Essentially, users copy a page only to discover it becomes blank as a result of mySQL transactions being disabled, and the view_rows_columns table ends up with missing data. It's possible to script or manually re-populate the missing data to recover the lost page artifacts, but this shouldn't be happening at all. We've seen this increasingly over the past year, and yesterday it hit a student about to submit their final portfolio for grading. Although our IT team have been able to recover data the ramifications should be clear to everyone working in a high-stakes high-stress educational context.
This is not a minor bug - it is a timebomb that will undermine the credibility of the platform, and could have extreme adverse impact at the level of an individual student.
Regards, Gordon.
