  Error from rmdirr() function - PHP dir() failed to open dir

Bug description:
  Getting this error when trying to clear cache on paired server
  deployment. The cache clears fine on one server but fails on the
  other.

  I suspect it's due to one server replicating to the other and locking
  the dir from being deleted.

  The rmdirr() function needs to make sure the dir is readable before
  trying to iterate thru it
