Message #50890
[Bug 1803095] [NEW] Images inserted via TinyMCE into comment, annotation, peer assessment are not pushed to student portfolio like attached comment files
Public bug reported:
When you attach a file to a comment, the file is being placed into the
files area of the user on whose portfolio you are commenting because it
is then part of the portfolio and would live with that student.
However, when you add an image into the comment area (also goes for
annotation feedback and peer assessment) via TinyMCE, that image is not
place into the portfolio author's files area but stays where the
feedback giver had uploaded it, typically, their personal files area.
That is not ideal because when the feedback giver deletes the file, it
is gone from the portfolio author's portfolio.
The feedback giver also does not receive a warning that they are
deleting a file that is used elsewhere.
In bug #1649433 we are looking into consolidating how to add files. This
case should be considered.
If a feedback giver adds an image to the feedback area, that image
should move into the portfolio author's file area in order to stay with
the portfolio no matter what happens to the account of the feedback
giver.
