Title:
Primary email address cannot be changed when account is managed by
external auth
Status in Mahara:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Tested with MNet on Mahara 1.10:
A user cannot choose their primary email address when the account is
managed by MNet.
Use case:
1. User logged in to the system with paula.walnut@xxxxxxx as a manual account.
2. The account was moved to MNet authentication.
3. User changed their email to paula.apple@xxxxxxxxx in Moodle. This email address was added to Mahara.
4. User changed email domains to paula.apple@xxxxxxxx in Moodle. This email address was added to Mahara.
User's primary email address is still paula.walnut@xxxxxxx although
the only one in use is paula.apple@xxxxxxxx. User cannot change the
primary email address or delete obsolete ones because the account is
managed by MNet. MNet is set up to update user information upon login,
but that doesn't seem to delete email addresses that are not in use
anymore.
The curious thing: In the administration under "User search", I do see
paula.apple@xxxxxxxx as the active email address for the user.
If managed email addresses cannot / should not be deleted, the user
should still be able to decide which one the primary one should be.
